Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how KRD File Manager (“the app”, “we”, “us”), developed by Kurd Apps, handles your information. KRD File Manager is built to work locally on your device, and we are committed to protecting your privacy. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
Information We Collect
- Your files stay on your device. The app does not collect, upload, or store your personal files, photos, videos, documents, or any of their contents. All file management happens locally.
- No account required. The app does not ask you to sign in or provide personal information such as your name, email, or phone number.
- Diagnostic data only. The app collects limited crash and diagnostic data to help us fix problems and keep the app stable (see Crash Reporting below).
Crash Reporting & Diagnostics
We use Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google, to automatically receive reports when the app crashes or encounters an error. These reports may include your device model, operating system version, app version, the app’s state at the time of the crash, limited information about actions taken in the app just before the crash, and a technical diagnostic log. This data is used only to identify and fix problems. It does not include the contents of your files.
Permissions
To work as a file manager, the app may request:
- Storage / All files access — to browse, open, and manage files on your device. This access is used only on your device; your files are never uploaded to us.
- Network access — used for crash reporting, and, if you use WiFi Transfer, to send files directly between your own devices over your local network. Files transferred this way are not sent to our servers.
- Optional root access — for advanced users only, to manage system-protected files. This is entirely opt-in and not required to use the app.
You can review or revoke any permission at any time in your device settings.
How We Use Information
The limited diagnostic data we collect is used only to:
- Identify and fix crashes and bugs
- Improve the stability and performance of the app
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or tracking.
No Advertisements
KRD File Manager contains no ads and does not use any advertising or ad-tracking networks.
Data Sharing
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.
- Crash and diagnostic data is processed by Google (Firebase Crashlytics) on our behalf, subject to Google’s privacy policy.
- We do not share your information with any other third parties.
Data Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the limited data we collect. Crash data is transmitted securely to Firebase. Your files remain on your device and are never transmitted to us.
Children’s Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised ‘Last updated’ date.
